Wes is a Partner at Clarke Silverglate, where he represents the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in plant and animal disease litigation. He represented the Department in the Citrus Canker Eradication Program, the largest pest eradication program in the world, and has defended the Department in trials and appeals for 20 years in more than 200 cases.
A computer programmer for most of his life, Wes created one of the first law firm websites in Florida and served as the Chair of the Florida Bar’s Computer Law Committee.
Wes graduated magna cum laude in 1980 from Rice University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. In 1983, he was awarded the degree of Juris Doctor from Yale Law School, where he was an Editor of the Yale Law Journal.
Wes is married and has six sons. He has run eight marathons, and he and his wife, Mary, appear as the lead dancers in Die Deutsche Volkstanz- und Trachten Gruppe, which performs European folk dances for audiences throughout South Florida.
In representing the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for many years, Wes is committed to help keep the food supply of Florida fresh, affordable and abundant.
