Desiree Dixon is an Associate Attorney at Clarke Silverglate. Before joining the firm, she worked for a nationwide defense litigation firm where she was involved in all aspects of federal and civil trial litigation with a primary focus in labor and employment law, government liability, commercial litigation, and civil rights litigation.

Ms. Dixon earned her J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law. While completing her legal studies, Ms. Dixon served as the Vice President of the Black Lawyers Student Association, interned at the Montgomery County Public Defender in Dayton, Ohio, representing indigent clients on a variety of state criminal charges, and was a member of the Federal Bar Association and Phi Alpha Delta. Additionally, Ms. Dixon served as a board member on the University of Dayton Community Standards and Civility Hearing Board, which served as the University’s internal disciplinary board for students who violated the University’s Standards of Behavior and Code of Conduct and Title IX issues, including, sexual harassment, and discrimination. Prior to graduating, Ms. Dixon interned for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in Washington D.C. on their criminal justice project, where she worked on cases dealing with modern-day debtor’s prisons and right to counsel cases under section 1983 and participated in policy discussions on sentencing guideline reform and other criminal justice matters.

Upon graduation, Ms. Dixon served as an Assistant Public Defender at the Office of the Public Defender 15th Judicial Circuit in West Palm Beach, Florida. During her time at the Palm Beach Public Defender, Ms. Dixon handled cases ranging from misdemeanors to punishable-by-life offenses, from intake to trial, including serious cases where children were charged as adults. While at the Palm Beach Public Defender, Ms. Dixon served as a board member of both the Palm Beach Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Florida Public Defender Association. In her free time, Desiree enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and English Bulldog, Violet, and trying new restaurants in the Miami area.
